Well, it has been a while, and I thought she had left me, but she is back!

Been a couple of days now, but my little spirit who has been absent since my weekend away, has let me know she is about.

I was sat here saturday evening when I caught someone looking over my shoulder. I thought it was my son, so I thought nothing of it. Then they moved swiftly off into the kitchen and I looked round then, thought I may have got a coffee out of it!

But my son was sat at his pc, and my daughter ...

OKay.... what with the female fleeting flirty phantom I have popping in and out of here, who hasn't been around since I have been away - it would appear that I am attracting members of the opposite sex. Dead one's!

Am I nuts? Yup! Am I crazy? Probably... Am I delusional? ...erm - Nope!

Had the occasion to get away for a few days recently. Packed my children off to their mother's and had a brilliant long weekend away.. Bliss! Immense thanks go to mein hosts!

Yup - it will be a about 12 mins ago now. By my pc it is 02:31, and I am sat here with a cup of tea, after either being kissed or touched.

I kid you not! I have lived in this house for 15 months and all I have seen is the average cat! Occasionally, I thought I have felt or heard something, but nothing definate. Sometimes my bedroom is not very inviting, but I put that down to not wanting to be alone in there! lol

So, tonight - Phew! ...

Women! Girls! Bah! Even their ghosts wind you up!

2 or 3 days a week my children are at their mother's, so most sunday to tuesday nights I spend alone in this big old house of mine. At least so I thought at first. Over the past year I have come to terms with sharing with a "cat" and a young female presence who is driving me nuts! The "cat" is absolutely no problem at all, except when "he" is on the kitchen worktops which is a bit tiresome when I go into the ...

Not as bad as it sounds, they are 16 and 13. Well - I was drifting off when there was a loud bang on the door. It was 1.30am. I ran down the stairs as no ...

I would have been a little over 5 when this event took place....

The weather had turned cold, so winter was on its way. It was after 7pm as we children were in bed. I had been asleep, and was awoken by a hushed voice telling me that they had to go now. I tried to sit up, but found I had been tucked in. I never liked that, and it panicked me slightly. Mum never tucked me in. I felt it was nanna, my great grandmother, I could smell her and eventually struggled out of bed to sneak down the ...

It wasn't until chatting with Sarah a couple of evenings ago that I made the connection. Must be my age, I am getting a bit slow!

Since my ex wife and I separated, I had been living in a flat, and in the meantime, my cat, Beethoven, stayed with the family. Had planned on him coming with me, but it took a few years before I could secure suitable housing for me and my 2 children.

Well, May last year, I ...

Okay - another new development!

Remember that game? knock somebody's door, then run away? Quite simply what I feel happened around 1am this morning. Or did it?

I went to bed around 12.30am, leaving my daughter and son on their pc's MSN-ing friends. Everything was normal enough and I soon settled down to sleep. I was just about to drift away when I heard a very loud bang on the front door. The kind of heavy knock that you would give if someone was in but never heard you. I thought ...

My first up close experience with the dreaded linen closet at the top of the stairs whose door would never stay shut! We children stayed away from that closet and considered it out of bounds when we played hide and seek.

Mum asked me to get some towels down from the closet for our bath night, and after an initial protest, I apprehensively swung open the already ajar door. Nothing wrong with the latch, just never stayed shut. Standing in front of the shelving, I felt a foreboding, but saw ...

A sunday evening in the autumn of 1970. I was 14 then. Unsure if it was October or November, but that doesn't matter. From the age of 8 up until I was 15, I used to spend most saturdays with my maternal grandparents, and most sundays with an aunt, uncle and 3 of my cousins.

This particular sunday, I walked home from Millbrook to St Deny's. My route took me up through shirley, across Southampton Common, then down through Portswood. It was a clear, crisp and fresh evening; a perfect walking ...

This was way back in 1961.

Between the backdoor of our house and the toilet was the coal shed. So the toilet was the furthest door from the house. I avoided going out there at night as much as possible, going as early in the evening as possible. This wasn’t too difficult as I was in bed by 7pm. I always made sure I went before going to bed, just in case! It was the typical brick built affair, room to go in and close the door. Just enough room to turn around and plenty of room for a 5 year ...

Think I was around 8 years old, sat in front of the coal fire in the sitting room with my mother. Dad was away, my brother and sister were both in bed. I think I was allowed up a little later to keep mum company. It was warm and quiet in front of the fire. Mum was knitting and I was balling her yarn. A strange and sudden feeling came over me. The best way I can describe it, is similar to the feeling you get when you have eaten far too much chocolate. A buzzing tightness behind the ears where ...

There were several things that happened to my family in this house, and most of them occured up until I was around 10 and a half. Had a few incidents after then, but not many. I am not being chronological about this at all.

I can tell you when it was exactly. it was 00:45 on the 25th December 1971. Dad wasn't around then, spending time away at Her Majesty's Pleasure. My younger siblings were tucked up in bed, and I was assisting Mum with the Christmas day arrangements. ...

We moved in to this property in 1963 - ish. It may have been 1964. I was 7/8. It was a bit of a blur when we moved in. Mum and dad had separated in 1962. Grandad died (Dad's side) in 1963. In 1965 my paternal grandmother moved in with us. She was not in the best of health and had to give up her flat until the council could find her suitable controlled accommodation. Gran had difficulty walking, so she had our back room as a bedroom while she stayed with us. This was before my uncle and his wife lived with us.

Some nights, I used to sleep with my Gran. I don't know how this came about but I believe it was due to the unsettled atmosphere of the house. Or maybe it was just ...

One evening in particular rings in my memory for it upset me for a time. Mostly an awkward embarrassment I suppose.
