PostSubject: One view on demons..   Mon Oct 08, 2007 2:37 pm

I recently entered into the following debate with Joan at the Isle Of The Dead, and thought it would be interesting to bring the topic over. Here is what she had to say..

Most of you have probably seen or at least heard of the film The Entity, supposedly based on a true story in which a woman is subjected to a series of assaults by an invisible being, the inference is that it is either a spirit or a being from another dimension.
Such stories are nothing new, in the middle ages of course it was the demons that got the blame, incubi and sucubi, were said to visit humans in the dead of night. which was pretty much in line with the belief system of that time. People had no problem getting their heads around the concept of an invisible world co-existing beside our own.
Yet these stories still persist even in more so called enlightened times as our own.
Now I can accept that in some cases that it might be down to someone wanting their 15 minutes of fame, I can even believe that sometimes it is down to the state of mind of the person involved, but can all of these stories be dismissed as being down to sheer fantasy?
These days of course the stories are less likely to be taken at face value, Doctors or specialists get involved, who will put it down to mental illness, stress, attention seeking, call it what you like, and probably prescribe loads of pills to make it go away.
Again it is down to the current belief system. Such things couldnt possibly happen so there must be something wrong with the person making the claim.
For those that accept the stories it is as likely to be put down to the work of spirits, elementals, even aliens, as it is demons, but the phenomena is pretty much the same.
So what do you think?

And my initial response was...

I once thought that you had to follow some kind of religious faith to believe in such things as demons, angels, and the like, but after years of confusing beliefs, these things remain constant in what ever religion anyone chooses to follow.

I am currently involved with a couple of cases that seem to go beyond a human type spirit haunting, and do appear to be the work of some form of demon being. These also seem to be of a slightly sexual nature, but do not appear to be the work of either succubi or incubi, who are purely sexually active to drain energy and gather human seed.

These seem to be other demons that are noted for their sexual and sadistic appetites. Victims of the succubi or incubi are usually increasingly pale and weakened during prolonged and continued visitations. These other demons also cause physical injury to their unaware and helpless victims.

Do not for one minute take this as a belief in demons, but I am not foolish enough not to believe it either.

What are your ideas on this one? What a Face

I was lucky I married a witch, and it was fairly easy to send her packing. Just needed a bucket of water....LaughingWhat a Face
